Embarq
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Embarq is a taste-matched travel planner published by Seldon Strategies. You can browse recommendations without an account; cloud saving and shared planning require sign-in.
Information We Collect
Account Information
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address and authentication credentials, or your Apple sign-in identifier and information you choose to share. Embarq stores an internal user ID and optional display name.
Travel Profile
Your taste-calibration answers, derived preference profile, and settings. These are stored locally and may sync to your account when you sign in.
Trips, Places, and Ideas
For signed-in users, we store trips, saved places, planning notes, taste-match context, travel circles, idea boards, and collaboration records that you choose to create. Apple Maps and MapKit may process place searches and shared map links under Apple's policies.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage metrics, diagnostics, and crash reports. These records help us improve reliability and may include an internal user ID when you are signed in.
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Navigator, Apple processes the payment and provides Embarq with product, transaction, subscription-status, and entitlement information needed to unlock and restore paid features. Seldon Strategies does not receive your payment-card details.
How We Use Your Data
- Rank place recommendations against your taste profile
- Save and sync trips, places, and shared ideas
- Verify, unlock, and restore Navigator entitlements
- Authenticate accounts and process account deletion
- Improve app quality and fix bugs
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

- Apple — Sign in with Apple, Apple Maps links, and MapKit place search
- Apple App Store — subscription billing, transaction verification, entitlement restoration, and subscription management
Data Storage
Account data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with authenticated, user-scoped access rules. Shared Ideas are also available to the circle members you invite or join.
