Familect

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 11, 2026

These terms apply when you download or use Familect (the “App”), published by Seldon Strategies LLC. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these terms.

Who May Use Familect

You must be at least 13 and legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you are not legally an adult where you live, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms for you. You are responsible for accurate account information and for safeguarding access to your account.

The Service

Familect provides tools for family members to create, assign, practice, and review language-learning missions. Features may include Guide and Learner roles, shared practice, optional recordings, notifications, data export, and AI-assisted lesson generation.

Language and AI Disclaimer

Familect is a learning aid, not a professional teacher, interpreter, translator, medical provider, or legal adviser. Lessons, translations, pronunciation guidance, and AI-generated material may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular context. Review important language with a fluent speaker and use qualified professional interpretation for medical, legal, safety-critical, or other sensitive situations.

Family Sharing and Privacy

Family members must respect one another's privacy and use shared information only for the learning relationship. The Learner controls supported detailed-sharing preferences. You may not pressure another user to reveal private answers, recordings, timing, mistake history, or other information the App does not share with you.

Your Content

You retain ownership of requests, recordings, notes, and other content you submit. You grant Seldon Strategies and its service providers the limited permission needed to host, process, transmit, and analyze that content solely to operate, secure, and improve Familect. You must have the right to submit any content you provide.

Acceptable Use

You may not misuse the App, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, submit unlawful or harmful content, impersonate another person, use invitations to harass anyone, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, or violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your Familect account and associated app data from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion cannot be undone. Some records may be retained only when legally required or necessary to address fraud, abuse, security, or disputes.

Availability and Changes

We work to keep Familect useful and available, but uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. We may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features and may update these terms when the service changes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Familect is provided “as is” and “as available.” Seldon Strategies is not liable for misunderstandings, interpersonal disputes, decisions based on lesson content, or indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, fraud, security threats, unlawful use, or harm to other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect.

Governing Terms

These terms are governed by applicable United States law without limiting mandatory consumer protections where you live. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where required by the App Store.
